The Harry Bertoia Wire Diamond Chair - A Reproduction

Bertoia Wire Diamond Chair designed by Harry Bertoia, features a chromed steel frame and natural black leatherette seat pad for outdoor durability; it includes rubber padded gliders. The wires create channels for air room, giving the chair a sense of fluidity. The body of the chair is rounded for better lounging. This high quality reproduction is manufactured to almost the exact same specification as the original.

Behind the Diamond Wire Chair: Designer Harry Bertoia

Harry Bertoia was an Italian-American artist and furniture designer who had made a splash in the modernist design movement in the 1950s, having designed several famed chairs and sculptures. These chairs and some sculptures were part of his wire series. Bertoia was fascinated with wires, as they manifested most of his works. The wire frames in Bertoia’s works were meant to accentuate free spaces and air. Bertoia’s untitled wire sculpture currently sits in the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D. C.

I recently moved into a new place here in Brooklyn and needed to fill out my new terrace, when I got here my problem changed from not knowing what to purchase into wanting to purchase everything. I don’t have enough space for MHD furniture but I wish I did!
