Description

Inspired by the original modern and contemporary design of Ib Kofod Larsen, this piece by Manhattan Home Design combines a sturdy and durable, traditional wooden frame with the warmness and softness of a wool fabric upholstery to create an alluring piece of homely comfort in a lounge chair. Simplicity and functionality are combined with style and elegance to set a standard of what a true hands-on American craftsmanship can achieve when applied to contemporary aesthetics.

Despite its particular and striking design, its solid and robust wooden frame guarantees you’ll have a strong lounge chair for many years to come and even to pass on your children. At its very best, this chair is a classically clean and ultra sophisticated illustration of  Danish Modernist aesthetics.

About the Designer

Ib Kofod-Larsen was a Danish architect from Denmark’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, best known for his furniture designs, including the Elizabeth Chair, named after Queen Elizabeth II got a couple of them on a visit to Denmark. Kofod-Larsen created several pieces designed to maximize storage and seating but was best known for his clean designs that typically consisted of rosewood or palisander. To this day, many of his works remain famous and are considered to be extremely rare and valuable among collectors.

I absolutely adore this chair. I ordered two for my living room and they look amazing. The curved backrest is very modern and the construction is high quality. They are very sturdy and comfortable. I’d highly recommend them. Also, the price is definitely a great bargain.

I bought this chair mostly to have a piece of furniture that was a little different from what you see out there and I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve had this for a while and it’s very stable and high-quality chair. I also like how singular it looks.
