Its look remains popular today as its style perfectly complements today's modern homes.

Pair this Sofa with its matching Florence Chair and Florence Sofa for a complete and captivating living room collection. Own this loveseat and make your indoor space a haven.

Behind the Loft Leather Loveseat: Designer Florence Knoll

Florence Knoll was an American artist and furniture designer in the 1950s, and was part of the Bauhaus movement in the arts. This movement originated in Germany’s Bauhaus School and spread through Europe and America, trying to sync art and technology in a way that combined creativity with manufacturing. Knoll had the privilege of working under the wing of eminent European designers Mies van der Rohe and Eero Saarinen, who had played major roles in shaping the 20th century modernist movement. (We also have reproductions of their popular furniture.) Florence Knoll was an architect who had created buildings such as the Connecticut General Life Insurance building in Bloomfield, Connecticut and the CBS Building’s interior in New York City. Florence designed several pieces for the Knoll line, staying true to her belief that architects should lend their skills to furniture design as well. Her work was recognized in contemporary times, as she had won the National Medal of Arts in 2002.
