Le Corbusier LC4 Chaise Lounge Replica

The LC4 Chaise Lounge (aka the LC4), originally designed by Le Corbusier, is a stylishly modern and eminently comfortable chaise lounge. The Le Corbusier LC4 Chaise Lounge features a stainless steel frame and polyester cushions with removable covers in top grade leather. The metal frames are cresent-like, while the chairís leather body is a zig-zag, a construction telling of modernism. Inspired by Le Corbusier's original LC4 furniture from Cassina, this interpretation stays true to the original in quality and form. The Le Corbusier Chaise Lounge replica is a great addition to any lounge set of a bedroom or living room, like the one at Le Corbusier villa.

Le Corbusier: The Designer behind the Leather Chaise Lounge

Le Corbusier was a 20th century Swiss-French architect who has enjoyed a fifty year career in the architectural and fine arts. He had created buildings in Europe, India and the Americas, particularly with the task of bettering crowded cities. Le Corbusier is credited for having been one of the key players in early Urbanism, as his buildings and villas were designed with improving the living conditions of the urban poor in mind. His paintings are on display in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in various museums in Europe. Le Corbusier started experimenting with furniture in the late Ď20s and one of his earliest designs was the Open Hand Monument in India. He delved into home furniture design with a book that focused on the relation of furniture to the human form, ie the limbs, which is telling of his chairsí eclectic shapes. His line of chairs was styled as L + a number. The Chaise Lounge is known as his L4.
