Styling a Room with the Noguchi Table

03/08/2016 Manhattan Home Design
The Noguchi Table, also called the TriBeCa table marks its presence in volumes; it is easily recognizable as one of the midcenturyís most renowned tables. So when placed in a room, it instantly becomes the focal point, as a glass coffee table and as an outlandish one, especially. But there are other spaces in the room that prove to be welcoming for the Noguchi table. The Noguchi Table is composed of glass and rosewood, but it need not stand with like materials.

Rooms With Splashes of Color:

If you are designing a room with artful flair, this layout is the ultimate template. With a couch and two arm chairs of different bright colors and neutral colors present in the room, this room appears as a painting itself, and not just the area with the large framed art. The Noguchi table is perfect for this room, as it provides a neutralizing effect; it does not add much more wild colors to the mix, it maintains a shiny luster due to the light from the window bouncing off of it. Whatís unique about this space is that there is a dining area in the back, with another table present. The unusual form of the Noguchi table prevents any monotonous feel from have two small tables in close proximity.

Minimalist Rooms

There are some spaces that simply beg for the minimalist design. With fewer furnishings, the minimalist look can be surprisingly plentiful, especially in an area with less defined borders. This living space is embedded in a larger area that is partly shown and it too requires its own furniture. Thus, this living chair has less furniture. With a fireplace and a wall stylized all over, this living area is not in want of more decorations. The red Womb Chair challenges the minimalist style with its caricature-eqsue look and bold color. The Noguchi table provides a kind of harmony between the furniture and the wall, which are of different colors.

Bringing Out a the Aesthetics of a Rug

For rug enthusiasts, especially of the woolen variety, the Nougchi table is the perfect piece to accentuate a rug. A large table would cover a rug, but the Noguchi table is both on the smaller side and has a transparent body. These two qualities allow for a greater surface area of the rug to be in view, that is, a larger area around the table for viewing, along with the one underneath the table, since the Noguchi table has a transparent top. Since this rug is very bushy, pieces of it sneak up onto the Noguchi Tableís legs, which draw more attention to the rug. Another nice addition to this living space is the Petal Chair, which decorates this living space that would other be in want of more furniture. But as the previous space, this one is not fully defined with borders and exists under a larger indoor area.

Pairing With Tufted Furniture

The TriBeCa Table works well here, as only two sides of it have closely-situated furniture, the Barcelona chairs and the loft sofa. Both of these comfy seating pieces are tufted, creating a kind of uniformity. The tufted look was popularized in large part to the Barcelona chair, and offers great accents with relatively any piece of furniture. The Noguchi Tableís transparent top has slight green-blue edges, which shimmer in accordance to the roomís grey, blue and teal theme. This setup would also be appropriate in much less spacious rooms.

In Verandas and Terraces

The Noguchi Table is a good option for semi-outdoor places like terraces and verandas. In this roofed terrace, a living room effect takes center stage with three major pieces of furniture: a Barcelona chair set of two, a Barcelona daybed and a Noguchi Table. The addition of plants adds to the outdoor aesthetic of this terrace in that the fauna is not only seen beyond the glass but within it too. It creates an illusion of being outside, or at least close to it. It complements the greenery well, as does the Noguchi table to the glass.
